were big for Billie Eilish. The 18-year-old pop star walked away with four of the night’s biggest awards, including best new artist, record of the year, album of the year, and song of the year. In winning those four major awards, she also replaced Taylor Swift as the youngest-ever solo winner for album of the year and became the first woman and second person ever to win record of the year, album of the year, song of the year, and best new artist in the same year.
Her sweep at the Grammys may have been surprising to some, but it seemed like Eilish herself was the most shocked of all: While accepting her award for album of the year, she said, “Can I just say that I think Ariana deserves this?” “We stand up here confused and grateful,” added her brother and collaborator, 22-year-old Finneas O’Connell.
