The rant saw the comedian share support for the lab leak theory and question the effectiveness of masks. Maher began by blasting individuals who wore masks outside during the pandemic. This strategy, he argued, was highly ineffective and misguided. Continuing, Maher laughed at a slew of other pandemic methods, such as closing down beaches, eating distanced meals in parking lots and using plastic to separate passengers from their Uber drivers.
Maher expressed surprise at the lack of committees dedicated to studying the COVID-19 pandemic, noting the previous existence of committees devoted to topics like 9/11, AIDS and the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
