A storm is forecast to arrive in the Bay Area late Friday night and dump heavy rain.
The storm is on track to arrive in the North Bay first."We could see some of the early parts of the showers and storm system arrive tonight in the North Bay, but we would not expect it until after 10 p.m.," King said.
As the storm pushes into the region overnight, southerly winds are expected to develop, and the weather service issued afor the North Bay from midnight to 1 p.m. Saturday, and from 2 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday across the rest of the Bay Area. Sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph and isolated gusts up to 50 mph are forecast for Saturday.
"Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects," the weather service warned."Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result." The weather service predicts the main rain band will pass through the Bay Area on Saturday morning."The 8 a.m. to noon timeframe is when the show is most likely to arrive and take place," King said of when to expect the heaviest rain."It's possible we could get up to an inch an hour, which is pretty heavy. We're not expecting that through the entire rain event. It will be when the actual frontal boundary passes through.
