The DNC reportedly paid $1.05 million to Bob Bauer PLLC, the law firm of Biden’s lead lawyer, from July 2023 to this past February, when Hur released his report. The amount purportedly mostly covered bills for the investigation. Biden’s campaign has criticized former President Donald Trump for using donations to cover legal costs. Last week, Biden campaign finance chair Rufus Gifford suggested to MSNBC the president’s team differed from the Trump campaign, which has directed funds to legal fees for several criminal investigations.
