Some big news: Joe Biden just now pledged to name a woman as his vice president if he becomes the Democratic nominee.
"If I'm elected president, my cabinet, my administration will look like the country," he said, "and I commit that I will, in fact, appoint a woman to be vice president. There are a number of women qualified to be president tomorrow. I would pick a woman to be my vice president." Women who have been floated as possible picks include California Sen. Kamala Harris, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and Georgia's Stacey Abrams.Bernie Sanders, asked to respond to Mr. Biden's commitment, said that "in all likelihood" he too would have a woman as his running mate.
