Bianca was then presented with the 2019 championship trophy and a cheque for USD$3.85 million to which she said, “I’ve never seen this much money!” with a laugh. In addition to being the first Canadian to win a major title, Andreescu is also the first player born in the 2000s to win a major, the first woman in Open Era to win title in a US Open debut, the youngest woman to win a major since the 2004 US Open and the first teenager to wine a Major since Maria Sharapova in 2006.
