The singer, whose birthday isn’t until Wednesday, got an early start to her celebration at the Made in America festival in Philadelphia over the weekend.
On Saturday night, Beyoncé was surprised with a cake by her husband, Jay Z, at the festival while a crowd sang “Happy Birthday” to her. While she played coy at first, ducking behind the cake, she ended up dancing and basking in the pre-birthday glow.in six years in honor of her mother, Tina Lawson’s, annual Wearable Art Gala back in June. She took the opportunity to praise her mother and give a nod to up-and-coming black artists.
