Charlottetown Library Learning Centre to the public on July 18. - ContributedCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — We have one month of offering service at the new library under our belts and I think we’ve welcomed at least half of the population of Charlottetown into the space. If you’re part of the half who haven’t made it in yet, what are you waiting for? Your new library has a café with delicious coffee, food and treats, Xboxes to play, a makerspace with VR googles, Cricut and sewing machines.
Regular weekly programs for the remainder of August includes Lego Club on Sundays at 2 p.m. for ages 6-12. For the extra littles our Wiggle Giggle Read program for ages 0-12 months is Thursdays at 2 p.m. and then they can graduate to the Toddler Time program for ages 1-3 on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. For ages 3-5 there are puppet plays Thursdays at 10 a.m. followed by family storytime at 10:30 a.m.
Aug. 31 is also the last day for the adults of P.E.I. to enter their summer library challenge. Fill in a punch card of library and summer related fun and enter to win one of three prizes . Speaking of adults, after two years there will be a return of in-person adult programs at the library. Sept. 12 at 5 p.m. is our first ever D&D club meeting. D&D club is for older teens and adults and for any playing level from beginners to old campaigners.
