First up in the new deal are a series based on Silva's latest book, 'Si Esto es Una Mujer (If This Is a Woman)' written in collaboration with Noemi Trujillo, and another adapting two of his nine popular novels featuring the Civil Guard duo Ruben Bevilacqua and Virginia Chamorro.
Spain's The Mediapro Studio has signed a new development deal with best-selling genre author Lorenzo Silva to oversee scripted fiction based on his novels. written in collaboration with Noemi Trujillo, and another adapting two of his nine popular novels featuring the Civil Guard duo Ruben Bevilacqua and Virginia Chamorro.
The award-winning novelist will supervise the script team for the new projects from Mediapro's production outfit Globomedia. Trujillo will collaborate on, about a cold case in Madrid that brings female inspector Manuela Mauri back from a seven-month leave.Silva's previous script experience includes half a dozen films and TV movies, including two features based on the Bevilacqua and Chamorro characters, 2017's.
"I'm very happy to have reached an agreement to launch a series about Bevilacqua and Chamorro with the assurance, experience and industrial solidity that The Mediapro Studio and Globomedia bring to the project," added Silva. "Various projects have arisen over the last 20 years for these two characters, which for me are more than fictional creatures, but none came together in the way that I and many of my fans would have liked. This is an excellent opportunity."
The Mediapro Studio of Spain's Mediapro Group, currently celebrating its 25th anniversary, recently started principal photography on Woody Allen's newest film in Spain and announced a development deal with Emmy-winning writer-director Justin Webster.
