Now that my work is done, I have spent a number of hours walking the course, collecting all the information I can. Looking back at the 2019 event, seven of the top 10 players on the leaderboard were inside the top 15 for driving accuracy that week.From the moment I saw the tee box on No. 11, I was hooked. It's another elevated tee shot, but this one begs players to bite off more than they can chew.
One player’s caddie laughed at the idea of taking it over the tree, “Nope, it’s 310 on that line to fairway. Not happening.” This hole really strikes me as a risk-reward spot for the longer players in the event and could be a chance to create separation from other contenders. If you’re a few feet short of your landing spot on 13, you may as well just walk directly to the front left rough and hope again that you’re not in a divot.
