There has been $1.9 million set aside in the city’s 2023 Capital Budget for the Road Resurfacing Program – approximately $1 million for asphalt resurfacing and $900,000 for surface treatment.Fitzgibbon Construction Limited submitted the lowest tender for asphalt resurfacing which will include Maple Drive, Bird Drive, Thurlow Drive, Selena Ave, and a portion of Casey Road .Several rural roads are in need of surface treatment.

Denyes, Foxton, Leslie, Forsythe and Cranston Roads are all due for full road resurfacing with Atkins and Gifford Roads to receive a single application treatment, which will extend the roads’ service for another five years at a significant cost savings.Council meets Monday at 4 p.m. at City Hall.
