- Ethiopian long-distance runner Kenenisa Bekele believes Mo Farah has struggled to flourish in the marathon events at the highest level and said he was not surprised by the Briton’s decision to return to the track.
Meanwhile, Farah has scrapped plans to compete over the distance and will now chase a fifth Olympic track gold in the 10,000 meters race at this year’s Tokyo Games. “It is really hard for all of us - the marathon is not easy. You need to learn how to run the marathon and also the training is different.”
“If he focuses and concentrates like before, I’m sure he will be in the medals in the 10,000. I’ve no doubt about that,” Bekele added.
