China's foreign minister endorses Huawei’s aggressive legal strategy in its fight against the U.S.
BEIJING—China’s foreign minister endorsed the aggressive legal strategy adopted by Huawei Technologies Co. in its fight against the U.S., saying the outcome is critical to China’s national interests.
At a news conference Friday, Foreign Minister Wang Yi applauded Huawei and its chief financial officer for filing lawsuits. The company is challenging a U.S. ban on purchases of its equipment; the CFO, her arrest by Canada.Huawei filed a lawsuit against the U.S. over a law that bans government agencies from buying equipment that uses gear from the Chinese tech giant, arguing that the legislation is unconstitutional. WSJ’s Dan Strumpf reports.
