The Velvet collection shadows are designed to inspire wearers to “dress your eyes in Dior” with five palettes each offering five “intense, long-wearing eyeshadow” colours. Inspired by the first Dior velvet-edition eyeshadow palette, which was released 30 years ago, the smooth-textured shadows feature cornflower extract to further boost the velvet-inspired texture.Eyeshadow palettes are a great option for creating a number of eye looks with one easy product. And this couture-inspired collection from Dior is no exception.
Our tester loved the assemblage of shades on offer. Her favourite among the release was 519 Nude Dentelle, which offers five soft neutral browns perfect for day-to-night wear. True to their name, the velvety shadows apply smoothly — even without a primer base. Our tester found the soft shimmer champagne shade in this palette was perfect for sweeping all over the lid for a simple glam look for daytime, while the deeper terracotta option added perfect drama for a summer night.
