In this summer of travel chaos, the risk of a lost suitcase is a terrifyingly real prospect. If, miraculously, your flight is going ahead as planned, why tempt fate by checking yourinto the hold? Many airlines now offer the option of additional cabin baggage , so with some clever packing, it is possible to go on holiday without having to let your suitcase out of your sight.
As a pro packer myself, travelling light is something I find more soothing than stressful. I recently flew to the Caribbean for my honeymoon with hand-luggage only, and still had space for souvenirs on the return trip.
