Wildlife officials in Halifax are attempting to contain a bear in the Dartmouth Commons, prompting area schools to go into hold and secure protocols. The public is being asked to avoid the affected area.

In an email sent to families, Halifax Regional Centre for Education said Dartmouth High School and Bicentennial School were asked to “go into a hold and secure until further notice.”
