A dog is dead following a black bear attack in Jasper National Park on Saturday, Parks Canada says.
A pair of visitors were walking with two dogs running freely between them along Wabasso Lake Trail when the bear approached “within a very close proximity,” the park said in a Facebook post updated on Monday, adding one of the dogs initially chased the bear away before the wild animal reversed its course.Sign up to receive daily headline news from the Calgary SUN, a division of Postmedia Network Inc.
