An iconic Jacksonville restaurant plans to soon close its doors on Atlantic Boulevard after 84 years in business.
– , owner Nathan Stuart announced Monday that the original location will shut down. The post reads:
“Unfortunately we will be unable to lease our building after the sale of Beach Road Fish House & Chicken Dinners property Febuary 28th! We are identifying locations for relocation in the meantime. Come see us. The location. 2 weeks left! Construction starts immediately.” As News4JAX reported previously, the St. Nicholas location had planned to remain open until spring 2023. In its place, the Daily Record has reported, there are plans to build an apartment complex.
The owners of the restaurant, Nathan Stuart and Margo Klar, told the Daily Record previously that it was difficult navigating the pandemic and that the restaurant’s utility bills had posed another financial challenge.
