The 7 a.m. sailing departing from Swartz Bay on Saturday was delayed due to a mechanical issue aboard a ferry, according to BC Ferries. The issue caused more than 130 vehicles that were already onboard the Spirit of Vancouver Island ferry to turn around and unload, staff at the terminal told CHEK News.Story continues below:“We are working to fix this and will keep you informed as more information becomes available. As soon as the problem is resolved, the vessel will resume service,” said BC Ferries in a notice just after 7 a.m.
Meanwhile, other sailings on the route are expected to proceed as usual.
