RCMP were called to Long Beach on Aug. 9 for a man who was pulled unresponsive from the water, and now the BC Coroner has taken over the investigation.
Cpl. James Grandy, BC RCMP spokesperson, says when officers arrived, paramedics and Parks Canada staff were giving CPR to the man.“The RCMP has confirmed the fatality of the adult man,” Parks Canada said in an email statement. “Parks Canada is deeply saddened by the death of a visitor.
Our hearts and thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim, and with those who responded to the incident.”“I can confirm that the BC Coroners Service was notified and is investigating a death that matches the date and location you’ve provided,” the coroner said in an email. “Cause and manner of death will not be established until the conclusion of the coroner’s investigation.
