The impacts from the parade of atmospheric river-fed storms to come ashore since late December have been felt across the state: Flooding and myriad downed trees have been reported across Northern California, potential mudslides prompted a major evacuation in the Southern California community of Montecito and heavy snow has fallen across the length of the Sierra Nevada.
Nearly 94,000 Pacific Gas and Electric customers were without power as of 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. The hardest-hit area appeared to be the South Bay, where nearly 53,000 customers awoke without electricity, according to the utility provider. Much of the Santa Cruz mountains received between half an inch and 1¼ inches of rain overnight, pushing three-day storm totals to between 6 and 8 inches of rain across much of the area.The San Francisco International Airport listed four cancellations into, out of, or within the United States early Tuesday, and another 36 flights had been delayed. There was only one cancellation and 14 delays at Oakland International Airport, and there were no cancellations at Mineta San Jose Airport.
