A woman was sexually assaulted in broad daylight at a beach 20 miles south of San Francisco on Saturday, police said.

Police described the man suspected in the case as a white, 30-something man standing 5 feet, 7 inches tall, with dark brown hair and a medium-length, brown beard. The description said the man is slightly overweight with a"beer belly." At the time of the incident, police said the man was wearing a tight, navy blue T-shirt made from spandex-type material, baggy sweatpants and no socks or shoes. He was carrying a black backpack, police said.

The man is wanted by police on several potential charges, including sexual penetration with force or fear, sexual battery by restraint and false imprisonment with violence, according to the release. Police shared an artist's sketch of the man based on a description of him and asked anyone who may be able to identify him or anyone with information about the incident to call 650-599-1536.
