A suspect was arrested shortly after Vallejo police arrived on the scene.

Vallejo Fire Department“My surveillance system pinged me with an alarm at about 3:10 a.m.,” Brooks told SFGATE. “My Acme Bread order comes in at around 5 a.m. to 6 a.m., so at first, I thought it was them. I didn’t think much of it, but then when I realized what time it was, I thought, ‘Let’s get down there.’”

Brown added that a neighboring business, The Joint, an art and handcraft shop, endured minor smoke damage but will likely require just a simple cleanup job. By the time the flames were put out, Anchor Pantry’s storefront suffered significant damage that will require a remodel. No one was injured in the incident.
