Batman Beats Death (Again) with a Brand New "Dramatic Return" to Gotham

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Summary Batman was recently run out of Gotham City and presumed dead by everyone he was forced to leave behind. Of course, Batman eventually makes his self-admitted "dramatic return" in a new issue of Detective Comics. Looking over Batman's history, despite his serious and stoic personality, it's clear that Bruce really does seem to have a penchant for drama and loves making a dramatic return when he can.

Burning the symbol into the building isn't exactly the most tactical choice available to Batman. If everyone thought he was dead, it likely would've been much better for him to simply allow the Orgham family to continue thinking he was dead while he began dismantling their operation. Instead, Batman makes sure that everyone knows he's back. In a Gotham that has forgotten Batman exists, nothing reminds them like a giant burning Bat-symbol on a skyscraper.

DC recently celebrated the anniversary of the influential Death of Superman story by a number of iconic creators, including Dan Jurgens, Jerry Ordway, Louise Simonson, Roger Stern, and more. The story is available now in a variety of collected editions from DC Comics.
