Bathurst Street has reopened following a gas leak that closed the major artery in downtown Toronto during the Thursday morning rush hour.
Roads have reopened after a gas leak led to the closure of a major downtown artery throughout the morning rush hour on Thursday. Bathurst Street was previously closed in both directions between King and Front Streets from about 7:40 a.m. to just before 11 a.m. Police previously said that the closure was related to a gas leak at a construction site at Bathurst Street and Wellington Street West.
The gas leak came amid another major road closure in the city after a garbage truck down overhead wires at King Street is still blocked off in both directions between Brant and Charlotte streets and Spadina Avenue is closed from Front to Adelaide streets.
