Games in the five-day tournament for elite under-23 talent at the Mattamy Athletic Centre start Wednesday.

The five-day tournament, showcasing some of the best men’s and women’s under-23 talent in the world, returns to Toronto’s Mattamy Athletic Centre with games starting Wednesday. And after less than half the available tickets were sold for last year’s first edition, Canada Basketball president and CEOsaid the first two nights this week are more than 90 per cent sold at family-friendly prices: an average of $35 per ticket for two games.

In addition to Canadian teams, the field includes the men’s Kentucky Wildcats and women’s Louisville Cardinals from the NCAA in the United States, plus teams representing Africa, Germany and Puerto Rico . Medal games are set for Sunday.of Kingston, Ont. helped Canada finish first and was named the tournament’s most valuable player. Brazil won on the men’s side. Edwards recently helped Canada win a bronze medal at the FIBA AmeriCup in Mexico and won’t be playing this week.
