Thankfully, he knew exactly who to call: his buddy and woodworker Robert Bushell. His reward for cleaning up the fallen trees on the property? Free lumber.

That maple tree used to build Bushell’s chest originally hit his friend’s house. To prevent risking damage in a future storm, he recruited the woodworker — who also does logging — to clear up other nearby trees .“I took a couple of logs and the rest is history, as they say,” he said. A closer look at the"Fiona Hope Chest" that Robert Bushell built. The name has a double meaning:"hope" for things to get better following the storm and the literal name of the creation, a hope chest. It was one of the larger projects Bushell has completed. His workshop is too small to complete items as big as the chest. But he finished the trunk in “about three or four solid days” thanks to some good weather — allowing him to do some of the tougher and longer jobs outside. Now, he has the trunk for sale at $250.Cutting boards that Robert Bushell made for East Coast Sawing and Designs. The boards made from trees damaged or knocked down during post-tropical storm Fiona are on the top shelf.
