SYDNEY, N.S. — A Sydney man charged in connection with the weekend death of another is expected to have a bail hearing Tuesday.
Jason Owen Caines, 49, is charged with manslaughter in relation to the death of a 51-year-old man that occurred shortly before midnight on May 10 in Sydney. Cape Breton Regional Police report finding the victim lying unconscious on the ground near the intersection of Duke and State streets.It is believed that the pair, who were known to each other, had an argument and that the accused is alleged to have pushed the victim who fell to the ground hitting his head.
