Summary Apple TV+ has released the first trailer for its upcoming series Bad Monkey. Back in 2015, Vaughn appeared in True Detective season 2 as a gangster trying to go legit. It was a role that was highly anticipated, but, when the season debuted, Vaughn’s character came off as a bit too stiff and wooden, even forced. The second season of the Emmy-winning series is infamously considered the lesser of the four seasons, especially when it’s compared to the first, which remains acclaimed to this day.
In the years after, Vaughn starred in some roles that fully displayed his acting chops. One of those would be his dark turn in Brawl in Cell Block 99, where he plays a man in prison. Sporting a shaved head and a massive tattoo of a cross on the back of it, his character is forced to perform an assassination. Another one of his serious roles is from 2018’s neo-noir Dragged Across Concrete, where he plays a scandalized police officer.
