B.C. schools required to provide free menstrual products in schools

The B.C. government has announced that all schools will provide students with free pads and tampons in washrooms, following a growing call for girls to have access to feminine hygiene products.

“One in seven students have missed school because they don’t have access to menstrual products…and some students feel uncomfortable asking for them,” she said. New Westminster said it believes it was one of the first districts in Canada to make the items free in every school.
