In the early days of the library, Ravel said she made and bought a lot of the treats herself, spending close to $5,000 over a nine-month span. “In our baking production facility, whenever we switch from producing one flavour of treats to another we have to clean all the dough out of the machines,” said Stiefvater. “That means five to 10 pounds of leftovers, which our workers then hand-cut and roll into uniquely shaped treats for us to donate.”
