B.C. resumes emergency operations centres as respiratory illness puts strain on hospitals

The EOCs will be in place for a minimum of six weeks.

Health Minister Adrian Dix made the announcement Friday, adding that the non-urgent surgeries that were postponed during this season’s ‘unprecedented’ increase in demand for hospital beds have resumed.
