On Saturday, B.C. Premier David Eby called President Trump's 25% tariffs “a complete betrayal of the historic bond between our countries.'

This was Eby’s first public address following the U.S. Government’s announcement that 25 per cent tariffs would be imposed Saturday, effective Tuesday.The province aims to retaliate in three key areas which include:2. Expediting B.C. projects and supporting industry and workers to support the local economy; and

The BC Liquor Distribution Branch has been directed to immediately stop buying American liquor from “red states”. Additionally, BC liquor stores with existing products on the shelves from “red states” have been directed to remove products from the shelves.
