A 54-year-old man from British Columbia has pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing death and bodily harm after a collision in October 2023 that resulted in the death of a 17-year-old.

A man from British Columbia , Canada, has admitted guilt to charges of dangerous driving causing death and bodily harm stemming from an incident involving two teenagers in October 2023. Raymond Denis Jacqueline Desourcy, 54, entered his pleas before Vancouver Provincial Court Judge Gregory Rideout on Monday. The charges relate to an October 7, 2023, collision on Granville Street that resulted in the death of Dana Oh, 17, and injuries to another individual.

Desourcy was originally facing eight charges, but he pleaded guilty to the two most serious offenses: dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing bodily harm. According to the Vancouver Police Department, the incident occurred when a northbound black Nissan Xterra driven by Desourcy collided with a black BMW making a left turn from Granville Street at the intersection of Granville and King Edward Avenue. A 17-year-old driver and two 18-year-old passengers from the BMW were transported to the hospital. While two of the teenagers were later released, Dana Oh succumbed to their injuries. The driver of the Nissan Xterra sustained minor injuries. Desourcy had also been charged with driving while impaired by a drug and possession of cocaine and methamphetamine, but he did not admit guilt to these charges. His sentencing hearing has been scheduled for April 21, 2024, pending a pre-sentencing report
