Counsellor testifies about rodent infestation at North Fraser pretrial jail and other complaints Amero had about conditions

A jury convicted Amero last August of two counts of conspiracy to kill rival gangsters Sandip Duhre and Sukhveer Dhak. Duhre was gunned down in January 2012, while Dhak was shot to death month later in November.

Rock asked the counsellor about the small outdoor exercise yard that Amero had access to on the isolation unit. AR agreed that it was much smaller than the one inmates in regular units had access to, did not get direct sunlight, and had just a spin bike and some pull-up bars for exercising. Under cross-examination, prosecutor Sandra Dworkin asked AR about her notes on her initial meeting with Amero, which happened in the middle of his trial after evidence was called related to a 2011 shooting in Kelowna which left Amero wounded and his close friend Jonathan Bacon dead.
