B.C. Highway Patrol stages mock collision at TerraceBC’s Caledonia Secondary School
The B.C. Highway Patrol partnered with local law enforcement and emergency services to stage a mock collision at Caledonia Secondary School on June 1. The demonstration, aimed at illustrating the dangers of poor driving habits, involved drama students from the school playing the part of actors in the staged accident.
The goal, according to B.C. Highway Patrol Sgt. Shawn McLaughlin, was to heighten awareness of the risks associated with irresponsible driving habits often seen among younger motorists. The detailed accident scenario allowed students to see firsthand the potential consequences of unsafe driving.McLaughlin expressed hope that this realistic portrayal would encourage safer driving habits among the students, particularly with graduation and summer vacation on the horizon.
