Meanwhile, the 2.6 per cent wage increase will also apply to camp leaders, residential caretakers, live-in home-support workers – and app-based delivery workers and ride-hailing drivers. That comes into effect on Dec. 31 to avoid wage changes during harvesting season, according to the province.“Minimum wage earners are vulnerable to jumps in the price of groceries, rent and gas,” said Labour Minister Jennifer Whiteside in a statement Friday.
