THUNDER BAY — Aysanabee, an Oji-Cree singer-songwriter from Northwestern Ontario, has been nominated for a Juno Award.He's nominated for an award for contemporary Indigenous artist or group of the year for his acclaimed debut album Watin.
Aysanabee will also perform at the awards ceremony, showcasing what host broadcaster CBC Television has described as "his striking sound and powerful voice."In December, Aysanabee was a featured performer on the CP Holiday Train that toured Northwestern Ontario.The other nominees in his category include Digging Roots, Indian City, Julian Taylor, and Susan Aglukark.
