Two bedroom units in the city are renting for an average of $1,978 per month, up 12.6 per cent year-over-year.Vancouver topped the list, while Toronto took the second-place spot. In Toronto, average rent for a one bedroom unit went up by an eye-popping 23.7 per cent year-over-year. B.C. remains the most expensive province for renters, but the report says Ontario is “beginning to close the gap.”However, those units saw a more modest increase of about seven per cent since last year.
