Avatar WayOfWater has officially become the highest grossing film of 2022, passing $1.5 billion at the worldwide box office.
\nAvatar: The Way of Water has topped $1.5 billion worldwide, making it not only the top-grossing film of 2022 but the tenth-highest-grossing film ever. Wednesday saw it pass Furious 7 for that spot, and by Friday, it will move to ninth place, passing 2012's Avengers. Staggering numbers so far, as mid-week grosses continue to be strong for the film, even after many have returned to work and school after the holidays.
