Spurred by some offensive dominance from Nazem Kadri and Nathan MacKinnon, the Avalanche have booked their ticket to the second round ⬇
With two goals and two assists to his name Wednesday, MacKinnon now ranks as the post-season’s scoring leader with 13 overall. Kadri, meanwhile, sits tied with Bo Horvat for the playoffs’ goal-scoring lead after his second-straight two-goal game, while his 12 total points put him level with Sebastian Aho for second in overall post-season production behind MacKinnon.
Colorado advances to the second round for the second time in as many years after being ousted in seven games by the San Jose Sharks in Round 2 last year. The Coyotes bow out of their first post-season appearance in eight years, the last coming during their Conference Finals run in 2012.
