Police received 31 reports of a stolen vehicle in North York between Aug. 11 and Aug. 17. That’s down from 39 reported for the previous week. Reports of auto thefts across the entire city climbed by nine to 156 . There have been 4,972 vehicles reported stolen in Toronto so far this year — up 40 per cent compared to the same period in 2021.One auto theft was reported at the following location: a curbside near Bathurst Street and Codsell Avenue on Saturday, Aug. 13 at about 1 p.m.

; a driveway near Jay Street and Rustic Road on Friday, Aug. 12 at about 8 p.m.; and a driveway around Blue Springs Road and Falstaff Avenue on Saturday, Aug. 13 at about 3 a.m. A total of 21 vehicles have been reported stolen in Maple Leaf in 2022.Five auto thefts were reported at the following locations: a driveway around Conacher Drive and Cummer Avenue on Wednesday, Aug. 10 at around 11 p.m.; a curbside around Hendon Avenue and Yonge Street on Saturday, Aug. 13 at around 12 p.m.
