A 4-year-old girl who drowned at a family pool on Wednesday night has been identified.
Officers were initially called for a missing child around 8 p.m. Wednesday in the 9100 block of Ocean Gate.
The girl got away while the family of 15 was gathered outside, and after 30 minutes of searching, they called authorities for help. Police arrived and canvassed the outside of the house. A short time later, officers found the little girl faced down in an above-ground pool in the backyard of the home.She coughed up water on the officer and was taken by EMS to a hospital, where she later died.
