Christopher Martinez was arrested at 5:30 a.m. and will face three charges of first-degree murder, police said in a. He is suspected of killing three people at a home in the 1500 block of South Evanston Street, police said.

Concerned family members asked police to conduct a welfare check at the home at 5:15 p.m. Saturday, but officers did not find anything suspicious at the time and did did not go inside the home, according to the news release. Police said Martinez was “initially contacted on the scene last night” and that he is “known to the victims.” Sgt. Faith Goodrich said Sunday that the suspect was an invited guest at the home.
