An Aurora City Council committee this week recommended a more than $800,000 contract for an East Side sewer project.
Members of the Infrastructure and Technology Committee recommended the $858,878 contract with Performance Construction & Engineering, of Plano, the lowest of four bidders for the project on East Park Avenue and South Avenue in both the 3rd and 4th Wards.The work is a sewer separation project that will also include some water main replacement.
When there is no rain, the sewers take wastewater to about 15 interceptors that run parallel to the Fox River, and run that wastewater to the Fox Metro treatment plant, where it is treated and released into the river.
