An Aurora man has been found guilty of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to a press release from the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office on Monday.
David R. Arevalo Estrada, 30, of the 1500 block of Roanoke Avenue, was found guilty by Kane County Judge Salvatore LoPiccolo Jr. Arevalo Estrada waived his right to a jury trial, according to the release.In court, Kane County Assistant State’s Attorneys Stacey Wittman and Alexandra Storto presented evidence that
between 2013 and 2016, Arevalo Estrada sexually assaulted the victim, whom he knew and who was younger than 13 years old, according to the release. LoPiccolo set Arevalo Estrada’s next court appearance for Oct. 18 at the Kane County Judicial Center for motions and sentencing.Arevalo Estrada faces a minimum sentence of 12 years in prison, according to the release.
In addition to the prison term, Arevalo Estrada must register for life as a sexual offender in accordance with the Illinois Sexual Offender Registration Act.
