Fairbanks Police attempted to contact a driver, who failed to stop, early Wednesday morning.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - An attempted Fairbanks traffic stop in the early morning hours resulted in the death of an adult male.

According to a press release, Fairbanks Police attempted to contact a driver, later identified as Carl Robert Ravenscroft, about 3:30 a.m. this morning near Airport Way and Market Street. He was reportedly under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Officers pursued the vehicle down Peger Road after Ravenscroft failed to stop.
