Stankey, a three-decade veteran of the telecom giant, said he's is looking to create a modern media company out of AT&T's $85 billion acquisition of Time Warner, which married AT&T's vast phone, Internet and satellite TV distribution with Time Warner's movie studios and TV networks, and their potentially rich trove of customer data.
