A snowplow found itself stuck in several feet of snow as extreme lake effect snow hit Buffalo, N.Y.

A dangerous lake-effect snowstorm paralyzed parts of western and northern New York, with nearly 2 feet of snow already on the ground in some places and possibly much more on the way.At least 5 feet of snow is possible for parts of the region by Saturday morning, with snowfall rates of at least 3 inches per hour accompanied by lightning and gusty winds as high as 35 mph.
"This is considered an extreme event," Hochul said during a press briefing Thursday morning. "That means it's dangerous. That also means it's life-threatening." "This is not the normal snow event that we get, so the public has to be patient," Brown told reporters. "This is a major snowstorm."
