Just after 2:30 p.m., the four were in a car near the 3200 block of West 79th Street when someone driving in the opposite direction opened fire, police said. The driver of the car crashed into a semi-truck at 79th Street and Columbus Avenue.A 16-year-old boy was struck in the arm and was taken in good condition to the University of Chicago Medical Center. Two men, 19 and 21, suffered gunshot wounds to the leg, police said.
Hours earlier, a 39-year-old man was shot and killed in Auburn Gresham. He was outside about 9:20 p.m. in the 8800 block of South Kerfoot Avenue when he was shot in the chest, police said. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
